2 DENSITY PU SOLE A lightweight material that is injected in two different densities onto the leather upper. The high density is injected first to create a tough outer skin. The second density is injected at a low density to provide a lightweight inner core for cushion and shock absorption. This material is extremely abrasion resistant, slip resistant and flexible.

ANTI-MICROBIAL PROTEC GUARD Protection that inhibits the growth of bacteria and fungi.

ANTI-ODOUR PROTEC GUARD Protection that inhibits the growth of odour causing bacteria.

BUFFALO SOLE A low tread, high abrasion, oil resistant rubber.

CSA Canadian Standards Association International. - Established in Canada in 1919. Certification tell you that the product has been tested, inspected and evaluated under a formal system which insures the performance requirements have been met.

CAMBRELLE A breathable line that keeps feet cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. It absorbs perspiration, dries quickly and resists foot odor and mildew.

CHEVRON SOLE A self cleaning 'V' shaped tread.

CORDURA A DuPont registered trademark. This product is ounce for ounce more durable than any other fabrics. 10 times more durable than cotton duck. 3 times more durable than standard polyester and 2 times more durable than standard nylon. Resistant to abrasions, tears, and scuffs.

DYNAMIC EXTREME® Extreme hard-wearing and extreme lightweight. Schoeller Dynamic-Extreme® represents a revolutionary generation of fabrics. High-Tech fibres, like the new abrasion and tear resistant CORDURA®-Plus and permanently elastic Lycra® give this fabric the superb qualities serious workers demand.

DYNATRED A low tread, high abrasion, oil resistant rubber.

FR Flame Resistant - Constructed from flame resistant fabrics and components, resists ignition and will not continue to burn when removed from the ignition source.

GORE-TEX • The GORE-TEX® membrane has 9 billion pores per square inch, with each pore 20,000 times smaller than a water droplet. These tiny holes are too small for water and wind to pass through from the outside. These same pores are large enough for moisture vapor to pass through, so your body's perspiration is able to escape and you don't get clammy and uncomfortable.

HOLLOFIL • DuPont's engineered yarn that minimizes loss of heat, without creating bulk.

INDURA • The flame retardant chemical impregnated in the core of the cotton fiber acts as a catalyst promoting the charring of the fabric. This accelerated charring prohibits the support of combustion by reducing the fuel source. The flame retardant chemical acts in the solid phase to produce this char. The mechanism of action is not based on a gaseous process of extinguishing or "snuffing out" the flame. 2 seconds after the flame has been removed from the garment it will go out. 36-50 washings under standard wash temperatures of 60 C, or with dry cleaning.

ISOFIX • A high quality lining that is breathable, fast drying and perspiration absorbant.

KEPROTEC®Schoeller-Keprotec® is made using only the highest-quality materials. For example, this fabric also contains Kevlar®, an aramaide fiber which, gram for gram, is five times stronger than steel. Using the most modern production technology, the various components are processed to a fabric construction which ensures extreme tear resistance, highest rub-proofing and perfect heat-friction resistance.

KEVLAR Developed by DuPont. It provides tear and puncture resistance in lightweight protective apparel.

NANOSPHERE® Nature leads the way: The leaves of certain plants always remain clean because dirt cannot adhere to their finely-structured surfaces and is easily washed off by the rain.
Stain release: The cleaning or washing of textiles is significantly easier. Less washing is required and at lower temperatures. The protective function of Nanosphere® is still retained even after numerous washing cycles.

NBR • Nitrile Butadiene Rubber. - Provides excellent protection against glass, metal filings and also oils and acids.

NEOPRENE • A rubber-like plastic acquired through the polymerization of chloroprene. Resists degradation from sun, ozone and weather. Performs well in contact with oils and many chemicals. Remains useful over a wide temperature range and has a physical toughness.

NOMEX IIIA • A blend of 93% Nomex, 5% Kevlar aramid fibres and 2% P140 and is manufactered only by DuPont, a synthetic fire retardent (FR) fibre, is combined with Kevlar for strength and P140 for anti-static qualities. It is inherently resistant to flames, dissipates static, and is resistant to many chemicals including organics, acids, and bases. The fire resistance does not wash out during laundering.

OARPRENE • Premium thermal rubber compound. High abrasion resistance. Oil, acid and chemical resistance.

PROBAN • When flame comes into contact with Proban chemical treated cotton, it forms a strong, localized, solid char which immediately insulated the wearer from the heat of the flame. 2 seconds after the flame has been removed from the garment it will go out. Independent testing and customer experience has shown that the efficacy of Proban chemical treated cotton remains after 25-35 washings under standard wash temperatures of 60 C, or with dry cleaning.

PU • Polyurethane - A lightweight material that is injected in a liquid form directly onto the leather upper. This creates a waterproof bond between the leather upper and the sole. This material is extremely abrasion resistant, slip resistant, flexible, chemical and acid resistant.

PVC • Polyvinyl Chloride - Economical general utility with some chemical resistance and strong wear resistance.

S/T & P • Steel Toe and Plate.

SYMPATEX • Extremely breathable membrane that is sandwiched between the outer material and the inner lining making the product waterproof.

TEFLON • Product made by DuPont that protects against stains. It is breathable, durable, safe and gentle. Fabrics are easier to care for.

THERMOLITE INSULATION • Patented thermal technology provides warmth with a comfortably soft, lightweight insulation.

THINSULATE INSULATION • Microfiber breathable thermal insulation. Absorbs less than 1% of its weight in water.

TPR • General purpose thermal rubber. Light weight and flexible in lower temperatures.

TPU • Thermoplastic Polyurethane. - Extremely abrasion resistant, lightweight and flexible.

ULTRAFLEX • Blended PVC compound with chemical resistance and high durability.

WCB • Workers Compensation Board of Canada
